My particular fields of interest are addiction recovery, trauma, couple counselling and criminology. There is still such a stigma attached to mental health, but it requires great courage to reach out for help. There are times when we all face challenges. I am a real advocate for preventative mental health, the earlier we can address potential problems, the less damage caused long-term. 

As of fairly recently, I have also developed a real passion for higher functioning special needs children. Autism Spectrum children are still largely misunderstood. Far more resources and support are needed, especially in South Africa.
